Flamingo wallpaper
Arches rough pressed paper + Daniel Smith paints

The painting was inspired by the wallpaper in a bathroom in downtown Detroit. The natural pinks, browns, purples and greens have a way of creating a very chic vibe.
Butterfly and coneflowers
Arches hot pressed paper + Daniel Smith paints

This has been the summer of Monarch Butterflies. With the garden in full effect, full of coneflowers and butterfly bushes, I have seen many of these beautiful insects in all their glory.
Black Necked Stilt
Arches cold pressed paper + Daniel Smith paints

This elegant little bird caught my eye in a photograph. It's slender long legs and thin billed beak are delicate, yet powerful. The dark red eyes let you know they are a force to be reckoned with.

Peacock

After spending time with the Peacocks that wonder freely at the Detroit Zoo, I wanted to attempt to capture their magnificent beauty in a painting. I decided to just go with the head.
Ukrainian War Soldier
Arches rough pressed paper + Daniel Smith paints (two color sutdy - ultramarine blue + burnt sienna)

This painting was inspired by a photograph I saw in the New York Times. I was so moved by this man's face, the pain and strength he represents.
Blue Heron
Arches cold pressed paper + Danial Smith paints

The powerful Blue Heron. When I see this bird flying through the sky it takes my breath away. The long graceful wingspan carrying the unmistakable s-shaped majestic bird will always inspire me. This won't be my last paining of the mighty Blue Heron.
